Before & After: 300 John Marshall NE

The original house was built between 1962 and 1963 by local developer John Bobby, judging from aerial photos and property records. The house was among the last two built of the original 57 houses in the Ayr Hill Heights subdivision, judging from aerial images. Ayr Hill Heights was platted in 1955 by longtime surveyor Joseph Berry and was dedicated in 1956 (1417:439). In its sixty years, only two families owned the original house, other than the developers on either end of its existence (5368:687 2272: 373; 27860:1956).
The View From Above Over the Years
Many of the other houses nearby had received additions or had been replaced outright, as is obvious from a comparison of 2024 and 1972 aerial photos. A 1937 aerial image shows that almost all the immediate area was wooded. The aerial images are from the Fairfax County Historical Imagery Viewer.
